Kyro The Vampire

Meet Kyro, a 21 year-old artist hailing from Homestead in Miami, FL. Active since 2019, Kyro has already released an impressive collection of seven singles with a variety of sounds rooted in hip-hop and rap. His musical inspiration embodies an interesting mix of 2000s radio legends like Coldplay and new-age rappers like JuiceWRLD and Ski Mask the Slump God. In short, he’s inspired by artists who, in his opinion, “have never made a bad song.”

That eclectic inspiration is evident in Kyro’s singles, which all boast a different take on the hip-hop core that binds his music. In his own words, his music can best be described as “hard,” regardless of the tempo or musical influence. He likes to create music that is characterized by heavy bass and “crazy stuff you [can] just mosh to.” His newest release, “Kyro the Vampire,” is a great example of Kyro’s hard sound. Packed full of bass and electric instrumentals, “Kyro the Vampire” keeps listeners banging their hands throughout the two-minute track.

Kyro’s latest release is another product of his freeflow approach to making music. After finding a beat that he wants to work with—a “Trippie Redd type beat” in the case of “Kyro the Vampire”—the artist uses any visuals or words in his immediate environment to riff on an idea. Slowly, lines and verses come together until Kyro has a full track ready to go. Kyro describes how he riffed on the word “wild” and ultimately came up with a heartbreak song charged with catchy vampire and pop culture references.

Although he’s yet to release any visuals for “Kyro the Vampire,” Kyro has plans for an animated music video that mirrors the anime-style of the track’s cover art. He aims to weave the storyline of this video with those of previous releases in hopes of innovating a new way to create a cohesive body of work.

For now, Kyro plans to focus on crafting visuals for his existing music. He is also working on new music, including a collaborative mixtape with a fellow artist and two solo mixtapes, titled If You Need Me, I’ll Be on Mars and Nice Guys Finish Last 2. In the future, Kyro hopes to keep pushing himself creatively, noting that his idea of success is never finite; instead, “it’s endless, even when you hit outer space.”
