‘Gracias Por Invitar’

With reggaeton dominating the charts in recent years, 23-year-old singer-songwriter Aylunna is ready to claim her spot as a staple in LA’s Latin music scene. In August, the artist released her first project Cangreja, led by the perreo-fueled single “GPI.” With over 12,000 streams on Spotify, the single and album are already demonstrating the singer’s talent and appeal in a rapidly-growing genre.

Born and raised in Southern California, Aylunna’s sound is hugely inspired by the culture that surrounded her childhood. She recalls “living in two worlds” as a kid: Mexican music and traditions at home and American hip-hop culture at school. These experiences helped the musician grow as a songwriter during her teen years and into young adulthood.

Now a young adult, Aylunna has taken her early interest in writing and turned it into an artful, personal way of processing her everyday experiences. “That’s my thing as an artist… my writing,” Aylunna shares. “Everything has a story.”

She puts these stories on full display with Cangreja. The singer describes her debut album as a “time-lapse” of her life. Through Cangreja, a chronological tale of her experiences unfolds through each track. Some songs show off her rap abilities, and others dwell on life’s darker moments. However, they all demonstrate the astounding lyrical artistry and powerful honesty that Aylunna claims as a signature in her music.

This month, the young artist aims to continue her journey with lots of new work. Up next, fans can expect music videos for songs from Cangreja as well as new musical releases, which are sure to be just as thrilling as her previous ones. If there’s one thing to expect from Aylunna, it’s the bumping beats and lyrical genius that she’s sure to become known for.

Lead single “GPI” and the rest of Aylunna’s Cangreja are available on streaming platforms now.
